Filipino-American Council of San Francisco
(Founded: 1969 | Members: )
Marisa P. Robles
3416 19th Street
San Francisco

To provide integrated resources for educational, cultural, and social development programs for the diverse community of San Francisco and the Bay Area.

The Filipino American Council of San Francisco takes pride in its 39 years of service to underserved Filipino-Americans and other ethnic residents of San Francisco, particularly the elderly. Founded in 1969, Fil-Am Council is one of the oldest Filipino community-based non-profit in the country. In spite of the many challenges it has faced in the last several years, it remains proud of its history, and of the men and women who have made the Council function with their dedicated volunteerism, generosity and support. Aside from subsidized daily hot meals for seniors and other services, the Fil-Am Council provided job training and placement services for over three decades to newly-arrived immigrants and recently-displaced workers. A large number of its graduates are now gainfully employed and economically independent residents of the City. Some have risen to become outstanding leaders of the community.
